6. Jerry Saunders, Pickerington North (2022)
Jerry Saunders was one of the most aggressive two-way players all day. Playing the role of a pest on defense, even some of the better ball handlers struggled getting by or making any moves on Saunders. On the opposite end, Saunders showed the same tenacity, always looking to drive and made quite a few remarkable dump off passes as well as tough finishes around the rim.
7. Chris Ringfield, St. Edward (2020)
Chris Ringfield walked into the gym with an advantage on a lot of guys with his notable length. What he did with his size and length is what merited being on this list. Ringfield is great at running the floor and never giving up on a play. Not super skilled with the ball on the perimeter, but he has the length and motor to give nearly anyone problems in the paint. Improving as a finisher, but with a strong summer now behind him, there’s reason to believe he’ll continue trending up.
8. Kamden O’Connor, Lebanon (2022)
Kevin O’Connor first caught my eye when he collected a defensive rebound and went 0 to 100 all the way into a pull-up 3 on the opposite end. His footwork being able to seamlessly gather after pushing the ball down the floor was notable. All around, O’Connor had a great shooting day, showing an ability to shoot from a few feet behind the arc consistently.
9. Michael Coyne, Hawken (2022)
If there’s one thing Michael Coyne knows how to do, it is shoot. He shot early and often. And he shot it without much regard to where he was on the court. To his credit, he shot the lights out. With a fairly effortless shooting stroke, he was a threat to pull up as soon as he crossed half court. Beyond that, he was more than competent handling the ball in the half-court and making good decisions.
10. Trey Clemons, Little Miami (2020)
Trey Clemons made a sizable impact within his team for the energy he brought. A physical player, Clemons makes up for a somewhat limited skillset with his size, strength, and fearless play style. He showed an ability to make some plays and handle the ball out of the high post. Overall showed out to be one of the hardest workers on the court.
