Today, we take a look at part two and who to watch for this coming season. This award could go to the top tier, or an unexpected player. That’s the fun thing, you just never know.
Keep An Eye On…
Paul McMillan IV (PG / 2022 / Woodward): Paul McMillan scored a ton of points as a freshman, defenses never had an answer for him. The blue bloods will come calling in on this one, the ones that haven’t already that is. McMillan is a three level scorer that has a quick first step that you can’t catch on the blow by. Finishes with either hand in traffic, and plays with an IQ beyond his years. 2022 is a talented class in Ohio, and McMillan could be one that threatens to take the Mr. Basketball award.
Seth Wilson (G / 2021 / Lorain): Seth Wilson transferred into Lorain from SVSM, putting him on a D1 squad that could make some noise. Lorain will be a talented team that is looking to make a run. Wilson recently committed to West Virginia, I’m a big fan of Huggins not waiting around to offer, and securing a high major player. Wilson is an all around guard that scored at a high clip, as well as getting teammates involved. Good motor on both ends when I’ve watched him, and should have a huge year. Wilson will be the heart and soul of this Lorain team. Which, in the end it could pay off for him and his team.
Luke Frazier (G / 2020 / Lake Catholic): Frazier decided to stay in-state and commit to a Dayton – where I believe he’s going to have a good college career. Frazier can burn an opposing team for a 30 ball any given night. Also, don’t expect him to drop less than 20. Luke is a poised ball handler who gets to his spots and finishes everything at a high rate. The senior can pull it from anywhere on the court and often be a force on one-man runs. Frazier is going to put up big time numbers his last go around, so he’s a no doubter for this one.
EJ Farmer (SG / 2021 / Cleveland Heights): EJ Farmer is a player that can absolutely take a team out of the game quick. The ability to put the ball on the floor and score it from anywhere sets Farmer apart from the rest. Transferring to Cleveland Heights will put him in a new program, but he should fit in well. Heights is a team with higher expectations this year, as they have an improved squad. Farmer could be a player that scores a boat load of points this year, and finds himself in that discussion.
Mo Njie (C / 2020 / Centerville): Centerville will be an improved shooting team this season, and I feel like this will benefit Njie more than anyone. The 2020 prospects is going to have a lot of putback opportunity, and a lot of space inside to work with. Njie will man things inside, and couple be a sleeper for Mr. Basketball, as he’s one of the top big guys in the state. Improved mobility he showed the last few months will go along way for him this winter, too.
