NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2016 Grizzlies ???
Kris gets his legs spread well on the jumper, especially when he dribbles into it. Concerning is the fluidity of the shot release. There is a little “junk” in the shot as he raises the ball from his hip to the release point. He can make it quicker and more difficult to defend with some one-on-one training.
The sophomore guard dribbles well, better than average with a low base. His legs are strong and steady while he dribbles left or right handed. Long term, Clay projects as a point guard.
With Hixson Kristopher will fight for playing time. The Hixson Wildcats finished 2018-2019 an abysmal 3-23.
The program has not won 10 or more games in a season since 2015. It is a long way up for the team and Kristopher can be a part of that climb. He still has three seasons remaining in high school to make that impact.
Look at the measureables. Kristopher possesses slightly bigger hands than players his size. His handspan (width) is average for a fully grown male, but he is still growing. Maybe that suggests Clay will grow a decent amount more. He currently stands 5-foot-9 without shoes on his feet.
Entering his sophomore season Kristopher weights just under 159 pounds at 158.7 pounds. The lane agility ranked among the best of the day: 11.19 seconds.
