KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
69-Trey Moala, 6’5, F, 2022, Paola
A player on the rise in his class with great hands and a good feel for inside-out play. He’s a fluid player who can connect from the mid-range area, distance and around the basket. He fights hard for plays and is good at blocking shots and getting touches and tip-ins around the glass. A promising player to keep your eyes on.
101-Aidan Wing, 6’3, F, 2023, Bishop Miege
A skilled forward who shows a great deal of promise on both ends. He has good speed and vision and makes good passes on the move and in transition. He can finish plays for himself and takes a lot of chances and looks good because of it. A combo player on the rise with a good upside.
92- Ethan Viets, 5’8, G, 2022, Field Kindley
Had several sweet moves with the ball in his hands looking for separation at the top of the key. He’s a smaller player but a strong one with the ball in his hands. He can shoot from distance and is comfortable when he has a look from one of his sweet spots. A young guard who plays well for his age.
14 – Caleb Brown, 6’0, G, 2022, Sacred Heart
A small school standout who shined on Sunday in Kansas City, showcasing a nice all-around game. He can handle it, break down a defense and finishes well in traffic. He had several good moments on offense including some nice moves during one-on-one situations.
51-Howard Johnson, 6’0, G, 2022, Junction City
He can shoot and get to the basket. Johnson is a young player with smart instincts on the defensive end and moves quickly off of screens and pops out or cuts back inside. He is good at selling contact and can get to the free throw line and connect. A smart player with a solid overall skill set.
