KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
55 — Daylan Jones, 6’5, G/F, 2021, Wichita East
A combo player with an elite all-around game. He has great size and excellent footwork. He has the ability to defend positions across the floor and is great at blocking shots, forcing turnovers and getting into his opponent’s head. Also a great athlete who can handle the ball and get to the basket and score. A difficult player to stop who does a lot of little things well at a high level.
60 — Tanner Mans, 6’5, G, 2020, Bishop Carroll
A 6’5 2020 wing player who rings a variety of tools to the floor, Mans is a knockdown perimeter shooter who hustles at both ends and gets a lot of deflections thanks to his long, rangy frame and anticipation. He plays great defense on the perimeter as he stays with the ball and forces turnovers. He is an agile player who understands his role, his athleticism and how to impact a team as a defender and scorer.
73 — Isaac Patterson, 6’5, G/F, 2021, Blue Valley North
A skilled wing prospect from Blue Valley North who brings size and length to the floor. He is an underrated passer and shows the ability to make good decisions on his way to the basket in transition and as a slasher. A solid defender and a confident scorer.
88 — Jack Sounder, 6’3, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley North (Kan.)
A slasher who moves well without the ball and finds himself open a lot around the basket. Sounder has the ability to attack the basket off the bounce and got to the free throw line. He has good size and athleticism and uses it well at both ends of the floor. An impressive leader who is difficult to slow down when he’s dialed in.
27 — Blake Danitschek, 6’5, G/F, 2021, Kapuan
A smart combo player who sees time inside and on the perimeter due to his high percentage 3-point shot and his overall size and agility. He is a good ball handler for his size and is comfortable playing the wing or slipping inside and playing big inside. He comes up big when it matters and can score in transition well on the move.
