KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
52 — Jack Johnson, 6’2, G, 2021, Andover
A player who continues to showcase an all-around game. He can hit shots from distance and is good at shooting before opponents have a chance to get close. He is a solid defender on the ball, a good defensive rebounder and has some solid handles and an elite deep ball. A player defenders struggled to stop from distance.
63 — Quinten Mason, 6’0, G, 2021, Olathe North
A terrific outside shooter, Mason showed a high basketball IQ and the ability to do a little bit of everything well. He is a tough minded defender and a team-first player who looks to make the extra pass.
59 — Enrique Lankford, 6’3, G, 2021, Bishop Carroll
Lankford is a talented guard with good size and a smooth shooting stroke from the corner 3-spot. He also had one of the best one-handed slams of the event. He has good shooting form and a quick release. He had several good passes and a key defensive stop but his offense is what does most of the talking.
31 — Matthew DeLeon, 5’10, G, 2021, St. James Academy
Another standout shooter with underrated speed. DeLeon is a sharp shooting guard who loves the corners and can get hot and connect from a step behind the 3-point line. DeLeon plays good defense on the perimeter and can defend players with a size advantage. Primarily an offensive player with good speed, handles and the ability to get the ball where it needs to go.
93 — Swede Wahwassuck, 6’3, G, 2022, Royal Valley
Long, rangy guard with an all-around game. Can handle it, defends well and is a knock down outside shooter with a smooth, repeatable stroke. Showed off a lot of range, shooting the ball from well beyond the 3-point arc.
