KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
34 — Gavyn Elkamil, 6’4, G, 2020, Pittsburg
One of the top players in the 2020 class, Elkamil is an impressive shooting guard with the ability to finish from distance, the mid-range area and around and above the rim. Elkamil is a talented guard who brings good size, solid ball handling and physicality to the position. He is a smart defender and is comfortable defending several positions on the floor from the post to the perimeter.
13 — Harrison Braudis, 6’0, G, 2021, Bishop Miege
An elite guard with a knack for impressive under the basket lay ups. Braudis is a smooth point guard who can connect from a distance and play tough defense. He is a good leaper for his size and shows good play-making ability with his dribble, vision and understanding of the game. He can post up a little against smaller guards, can handle the ball and create off the bounce and is strong in transition where he can surprise an opponent with an occasional dunk. A thoughtful player who can score for himself and get others the ball.
2 — Luke Adams, 6’0, G, 2021, Blue Valley North
Adams is a smooth ball handler who is known for his outside shooting abilities. He is a smart, high basketball IQ point guard who has been a key varsity player at BVN since his freshman season. He can run a team at the point, sees the floor well and can find the open man, but his calling card as a player might be his outside shooting. He knocked down several long range outside shots.
81 — Trey Reid, 5’11, G, Maize South, NLHA
Reid is a scrappy guard who can do almost anything you need. He is a terrific defender at the top of the key who likes to pick off passes and run the flour. He can finish through the air well and makes great decisions through contact. Reid has established himself as a go-to guard with good vision and leadership.
57 — Devon Junghans, 5’10, G, 2021, Salina South
There are few players who play at a faster pace than Junghans, who is all out all the time. He has added a 3-point stroke to his game and is a tough match-up for opposing guards due to his ability to attack the basket and a red hot motor.
