KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
12-Carson Brading, 5’10, G, 2021, Topeka
Brading is a solid shooter and ball handler who can operate as a point or scoring guard. He can create his own shot inside and out. He distributes the ball well and shows a lot of hustle and stays with the play and looks to grab the ball. He does a bit of everything.
75 — Nevin Ponds, 6’0, G, 2021, Lawrence
Ponds has the ability to handle the ball as a point and can operate as a scoring guard as well. He can connect from distance and got transition looks. He plays defense on the perimeter and looked to contest shots and pass to his teammates who had open looks.
84 — Jace Scott, 6’0, G, 2021, Caney Valley
Scott stuck his nose in the paint for several defensive rebounds and played a solid, all-around floor game. He doesn’t have the size for paint play but looked sharp and outworked his opponents on several occasions.
22 — Kyle Church, 6’2, G, 2021, Campus
Church looked to defend the ball and even took some chances in the post area. He passed to his teammates and occasionally shot an open look. He played team-first ball whenever he was on the floor.
