KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
19 — Steele Chapman, 6’1, PG, 2020, Campus
A standout point guard who brought a combination of skills to the floor Sunday. Chapman has a nice rhythm to his game and shows the ability to handle it, shoot it, and rebound extremely well for his size around the basket. He has a high basketball IQ and shows leadership, and seasoned play with his decision making and half court passing.
38 — Kaleb Gaddis 5’11, G 2021, Andover
Gaddis makes a case for the most intelligent guard on the floor at any given time. He sees things before they happen and gets show time level assists without even thinking about it. He can score anywhere on the floor but prefers to get opponents open looks under the basket. A creative guard who also plays great defense on and off the ball.
42 — Keegan Harrod, 5’8, G, 2021, Maize
A quick player with the ball in his hands and one who can find holes and slip to the basket. He doesn’t let his size hold him back, making the most of his speed, athleticism and intelligent shot selection. He defends well the entire length of the court as he shows he works extremely hard on both ends of the floor.
1 — Carlos Acosta, 5’9, G, 2020, Garden City
Acosta feels comfortable passing the ball and getting his teammates open looks. He can score and did so well at times, but he is a pass first player and an on ball defender. He is always looking for a play and takes his time finding the right one. Also a guy who can put his head down and get to the hoop. A hard-nosed point guard.
85 — Parker Scott, 6’1, G, 2021, Maize South
Scott can shoot and handle the ball well. He has a good feel for the corner 3 and is good at getting open and staying open. Scott is also good at defense and has long arms and shows a good deal of hustle. He moves well and shows the ability to sneak by opponents and dish assists or score for himself under the basket.
