Players got after it majority of the day in front of college coaches, and it was a great turn out for all involved.
In this one, we’re taking a look at point guards who stood out!
Lead Guards:
Eli Burke (6’0” / PG 2021 / Africentric): Burke continues showing why he’s one of the better 2021’s in the area. Personally a big fan of Burke’s offensive game. The junior put the ball on a string all day, making defenders look silly at times. His all-around offensive game was working, in which he showed off anything from deep range to the ability of scoring baseline off the glass. Burke keeps his head up when getting down court, looking to make plays.
Landon Tillman (5’8” / G 2021 / Westerville Central): Landon Tillman I haven’t been able to watch much, but that changed today. Tillman can work as a primary ball handler, or without the ball. Makes flashy passes, but always puts the ball where it needs to be. I liked the energy that he brings to the table, especially on offense.
Casey George (6’1” / PG 2020 / Pickerington North): Casey George was able to give good minutes whenever he was out there. Knocking down shots, as well as feeding the ball inside, the 2020 guard played with a good IQ. Knocked down quite a few shots, off both the bounce and the catch-and-shoot.
Devin Bonney (6’0” / G 2021 / Marion Harding): Bonney should the ability to score off the bounce. A primary ball handler that can get others involved. The junior is rather quick and athletic, as he can get up. Also, has the ability to finish through traffic. Needs to grow his IQ and decision making, but you can definitely see some solid skills when watching him play.
Mehki Jarrett (5’7” / PG 2020 / Mifflin): Jarrett brung some scrappiness to the court on Saturday. Jarrett is a ball handler that didn’t turn it over a ton, and created for teammates. Had the floater falling, including from the baseline. On defense Jarrett plays up on the ball handler, allowing no space. Jarrett is fun to watch as he just competes.
