Lots going on in Columbus today between the Columbus Bluejackets, Ohio State playing at 3:30 and of course this event. So come on out and get a view at some of the areas prospects.
Let’s take a look at a few prospects we will want to key in on, and watch how there games have developed.
Keep An Eye On..
Kegan Hienton (6’5” / WF 2020 / Big Walnut): Heinton has thrived as a spot up shooter in the past, especially money from either corner. The senior moves well without the ball and can score off of second chance opportunities. We will be watching to see the development of the 6-5 wing-forwards off the dribble game. If Kegan improves that part of his game and becomes a bigger threat off the bounce, it would open up a lot. Nevertheless, he has a solid season in store for him at Big Walnut.
Trevell Adams (5’10” / G 2020 / Columbus South): Trevell Adams was maybe the best sixth man in the state last season. This year, he’ll move into a starting guard position. Adams plays hard on both ends and is dangerous at getting to the hoop and scoring by any means necessary. When his shot is falling, it makes his game that much better. Adams has an above-average vertical that makes up for his height, which is a non factor. Eager to watch Adams tomorrow and his game from the perimeter.
Julian Binford (5’9” / PG 2020 / Eastmoor): Binford is one of the better guards in the City League, as he doesn’t let a lack of height affect his game. The senior guard has the ability to create space off the crossover, dropping a floater in the lane or the fall-away. Eastmoor will look to improve this year, Binford will lead those hopes. Ecstatic to watch the Eastmoor guard put up buckets and extend the ball to teammates today!
Mehki Jarrett (5’8” / PG 2020 / Mifflin): Jarrett would be on my list of underrated players in the Columbus area, if there was one. You can just watch him play and tell he loves the game of basketball. Mehki can make flashy passes, as well as a tight handle at all times. The senior can get to the hoop and creates space doing so, finishing strong. Doesn’t shy away from contact, which is always great to see. Not the biggest of prospects but a player that will bring it at all times.
Isaac Settles (6’5” / WG 2021 / Thomas Worthington): With the addition of Tyrese Hughey to Thomas Worthington, some forget they already had two D1 prospects. It seems that some forget what Settles is capable of and what he is in store for this season. At 6-foot-5 Isaac is a matchup problem for guards, where he takes advantage of the opportunity and is an automatic bucket in those matchups.
