This is the last season and opportunity you have to suit up with your teammates and represent the name across your chest. With the overall improvements top to bottom in this class, several athletes have emerged as must watch. Here are 5 2020 athletes you need to watch live this season:
Tommy Murr (Lindsey Lane)- How could you not want to watch the Nation’s leading returning scorer live? This kid can play. Watching Tommy Murr is like watching poetry in motion. He plays with confidence, a high IQ, and a killer’s mentality. Murr is not afraid of the big moments, and he gets buckets. If you’re a skeptic, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Kam Woods (Pinson Valley)- Say what you want about Kam Woods. This kid is electrifying to watch during the prep season. He demands attention from the opposing team. The hype is real from the moment he starts warming up. We expect nothing but Kam’s best for his senior season. Pinson Valley’s best player is must watch basketball in Birmingham and in the state.
Mike Murry (Carver-Montgomery)- If you like athletes, Murry is one to watch. This kid plays with swagger and flat out attacks opposing teams. He plays with physicality on the perimeter and is not afraid of anyone. Murry can score from all 3 levels, and he plays above the rim. The 6’2 guard will make highlight plays on both ends off the court.
Rongie Gordon (Sidney Lanier)- Maybe you like watching athletic forwards or bigs. Gordon is the guy to watch. This 6’8 forward has transformed into a beast. He can play on the perimeter, or he can demand the ball in the post. Gordon has really transformed his game and his body. We see a lot of Chuma Okeke in Rongie Gordon…. Look how things have turned out for Chuma.
Trey Bonham (UMS-Wright)- Bonham is the player that stands out in the Mobile area. This kid had a huge summer. The 5’11 point guard is poised for a huge senior season. He can score from all 3 levels, and this kid will set up his teammates for easy opportunities. Bonham is arguably the best point guard prospect in the state.
