Athletes are grinding for opportunities to play at the next level. There is talent in every class. It is hard to pick just 5 guys, but if your name is not mentioned, that does not mean I won’t be catching a game.
Knute Wood (Brooks)- I have heard great things from coaches at the high school and college level about Knute. I have watched his highlights and have broken down game film. This 6’3 sophomore guard can do it all. Knute is a very good shooter and playmaker, but he is also rounding into a solid athlete. This year, will be the first time I watch this 2022 prospect live.
Dallas Howell (Enterprise)- The 6’7 forward has a smooth shooting stroke, competes on the glass, and is an underrated defender. Unfortunately, Dallas had a knee injury and missed the spring/summer. There’s no doubt that this 2020 prospect is ready to get back to full speed and prove he is still a MM level player. I’m excited to see how he has improved, and how hungry he is.
JD Davison (Calhoun)- Davison is one of the most explosive athletes in the state. This 6’2 top 100 guard is electric. Human highlight waiting to happen. Davison is a high flyer who makes plays on both ends of the court. He is an exceptional rebounder from the perimeter and is fearless attacking the rim. Get the popcorn ready.
Trey Bonham (UMS-Wright)- The way this 5’11 point guard dominated team camps and elite camps this summer did not go unnoticed. Trey can play and will play somewhere at the D1 level. This kid can really score the ball, make plays off the bounce, and he doesn’t back down from a challenge defensively.
Tommy Murr (Lindsey Lane)- Tommy is on pace to make history in the state. Who wouldn’t want to watch the nation’s leading scorer continue to get buckets? The 6’1 2020 guard is a sure fire D1 prospect. In the right system, he is going to flourish. Tommy plays with a high IQ, is efficient with the ball, and just makes it look so easy.
