These leagues are one of the last opportunities of the year to evaluate multiple prospects under one roof. They’re also a perfect opportunity to find out which teams could be potential contenders. In this article PH takes a look at some of the players we’re anxious to get a look at in the Spring Valley Fall League.
Kendall Burrell Bonanza 5’11 PG 2020 (PHN #29 C/O 2020) – Burrell did it all for Bonanza last season. He was one of the state’s top scorers. Scoring PG. He can shoot it and create his own shot. This season under the direction of new coach Kevin Soares, and an infusion of talent, he’s hoping that all that scoring translates into wins.
Chris Dockery Bonanza 6’5 SG 2021 – Dockery is one of the fastest rising prospects in the valley. He’s grown a couple of inches over the summer. The now 6’5 guard has become a much sought after prospect. Ridiculously long arms. Dockery is a late bloomer that has started to grow into his body. Good skill – set, solid handle, good shooter that can defend multiple positions. Under the tutelage of new coach Kevin Soares, expect Dockery to have a break – out season.
Triston Scott Spring Valley 6’4 F 2022 (PHN #16 C/O 2022) – Scott is one of the players I’m most excited to see. The rising sophomore is a key returner. He has good size, however I didn’t see a ton of Scott this summer. Had a productive freshmen year. Interested in seeing how he has developed.
Austin Anderson 6’0 SG Centennial 2020 – I saw Anderson earlier this week. The Volleyball star is going to get his chance to lead the team. All the coaches are high on him. Good shooter, good athlete, really excited to see what he brings.
Martel Williams Silverado 6’1 SG 2020 (PHN#9 C/O 2020 – If Martel is playing, then I’ll probably be in the building. The explosive guard is must see basketball even in a fall league setting. A player this talented entering his final season should clearly be head and shoulders above the competition. Interested to see how seriously the preseason POY candidate takes it.
Osaris Grady Silverado 6’6 PF 2023 – I had a chance to see Sebastian Mack earlier in the week and now I get to see Grady! Size, skill and athleticism, what’s not to love? He really shot up this summer and has made his way onto several national rankings list. Interested to see what he looks like in his first taste of varsity action.
Jordan Morency Silverado 6’3 SG 2023 – This will be my first opportunity to evaluate Morency in person. On film I love him. Advance game. Versatile scorer who can score from all 3 levels. I’ll be closely evaluating him over the next couple of weeks. Interested in getting a look at his size, mechanics and competitiveness.
Javi Mesa 5’7 PG Basic 2021 – I really hope I get to see a lot of Mesa. I love quick jitterbug PG’s. Pass first guy that can set up his teammates. Basic has been down over the last couple of seasons, a player like Mesa may just be able to give them a jump start.
