Continue ReadingThis season will feature plenty of new names at new locations as we have seen a nice amount of players transfer in to different schools as well as coming to NC from out of state. We take a look at some of the players that we feel will be able to come in and make an early impact for their new squads.
Westover 2021 Guard D’Marco Dunn: He comes to Westover all the way from Arizona and we have no doubt that he will step in right away and play at a high level. Dunn is a player with nice athletic ability as well as the ability to score the ball at a nice level. The scary part about is, he is only scratching the surface of what he can be physique wise, once he adds more upper body muscle he will be even harder to contain.
Village Christian 2020 Forward Josh Reid: Previously at WOG in Raleigh, Reid is making the one hour trip to Fayetteville to be a part of a Village Christian program that has seen the team reach the state championship three out of the last four years. With two D1 guards returning from the squad last year, the main vacancy on the roster was at the Forward spots which we feel is a role that Josh should fit in well.
Concord First Assembly 2020 Guard Ambaka Le Gregam: We got our first opportunity to see him play during the season last year with Freedom Christian as he showed some flashes of just how good he can be. His ability to score the ball will be something that they will see at CFA early and often and it’s what has caught the attention of college coaches.
Word of God Christian 2020 Wing Saiquone Harris: The growth that we have seen from Harris over the past year has been outstanding, he’s worked on his craft and developed into a nice overall player, putting together some impressive showing with Juice All-Stars over the spring and summer. Already committed to Hutch CC, he can use this season as a preparation year as the Holy Rams will be playing some top level talent all season as well as going head to head at practice with other D1 prospects.
Clevland HS 2021 Guard Walter Ghaffar: Over the last few years he has been a role player at Fayetteville Academy, with his final season last year ending with the team winning a state championship. This year he will look to help a team that finished the season last year at 11-13, competing with teams in the Johnston County area. Athletic ability is something that he had early on in his career, and now he’s added confidence as well as even better shooting from three point land.
