Some of the top players in the class have picked up HM offers while others are capturing offers from MM and LM programs. There are still a few names that will have the opportunity to jump on the radars this season as juniors and will be players we keep an eye on to have breakout seasons.
Richmond County Forward Nygie Stroman: The ENC area better watch out as this young man seems primed for a breakout year as he and his teammates have been putting in a high amount of preseason work. The 6’5 forward with a 3.3 GPA has already caught the attention of College coaches at the D1 level with his ability to score and rebound at a nice rate. His three point shooting is impressive as well as his IQ for the game which he uses to make positive plays without excessive dribbling,
Wayne Country Day Forward Howvante Hutcherson: He has a new home now at WCDS and the 6’8 Forward will have an opportunity to show people in the state of NC the potential he has. His potential to be a versatile is one of the things that we really like about him, don’t be surprised to see him stepping out of the post and putting the ball on the floor to make plays.
Pinecrest HS Guard Bradlee Haskell: His sophomore year was very impressive as he helped to lead his squad into a deep playoff run with them eventually coming up short against State Champion South Central HS. He’s a PG that can dominate a game with his scoring or by setting up teammates to be a facilitator, which should only help him to be that much more marketable to college programs.
NLCA Guard Pharell Davis: The skillset has always been there for him but what he has lacked at times is the confidence to make plays. This year he will be called on to step into a major role for the team to be successful and we fill he will be fully capable to step in and play well. His shooting from three point land and height/wingspan for a guard are all traits that work in his favor.
Trinity Christian Forward Robert Wright Jr: With a high amount of teammates graduating, the responsibility of being a valuable post option will fall into his hands. He understands how to use his size and weight to rebound and finish inside as well as battling with opposing bigs who may be a bit older than he is. Only time will tell but we have a good feeling about what Wright could potentially be for the Crusaders this year.
