These players have size and excellent skill sets which enable them to excel at the shooting guard, small forward and the Stretch 4 positions. Some can even take over at point guard when their teams need it.
Cam’Ron Fletcher 6’6″ Vashon: The high-flying athlete recently gave a verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky. He returns for his senior year after averaging 17 points a game in helping the Wolverines to the Class 3 state championship. Fletcher was the second leading scorer for the Brad Beal Elite 17U in the Nike EYBL and was one of the top players at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia in June. He is a dynamic athlete who excels in transition and can also shoot the open 3-pointer.
Luke Kasubke 6’5″ Chaminade: The talented sharpshooter recently gave a verbal commitment to Kansas State University. One of the top 3-point shooters in the state, Kasubke averaged 12 points a game for MoKan Elite during the Nike EYBL regular season and was a important cog in MoKan’s run to the EYBL Peach Jam championship in July. As a junior at Chaminade, Kasubke averaged 23 points a game for the Red Devils. He scored a high of 50 points against Parkway North on December 27..
Dylan Branson 6’5″ Mehlville: The burly 210-pound wing can play all five positions and can excel with his ability to score at all three levels. He is a strong post up player in the paint against smaller defender as well as being one of the best passing threats in the state. As a junior, he averaged 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in leading the Panthers to the Class 5 state quarterfinals. He was also a starter on MoKan Elite’s 17U Nike EYBL championship team during the grassroots season.
Kobe Clark 6’6″ Vashon: A talented point-forward who plays just about anywhere on the court for a loaded Vashon team that won a Class 3 state championship team. He is an excellent passer and facilitator with the ball in his hands with the ability to score in the mid-range area and knock down 3-pointers. His basketball IQ is very high. He is also one of the best offensive rebounders in the state.
Coban Porter 6’5″ Father Tolton: The third brother of the talented Mid-Missouri basketball family, Porter is a fundamentally-sound player who can knock down 3-pointers and play solid defense. He had an excellent performance in the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in helping MoKan Elite win the championship. He hit several key 3-pointers throughout the week. He has good size and ball handling ability to go along with his perimeter shooting.
Sam Richardson 6’5″ Hancock: The multi-talented forward will be a four-year starter for the Tigers. He is a solid jump shooter who can also attack the basket and post up in the paint for buckets. His rebounding is also strong from the wing position. As a junior, he averaged 21.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead Hancock to a Class 3 district championship in 2019. He received a Division I offer from SEMO during the summer.
Danny Abreu 6’5″ Willard: An all-around talent who has really come into his own as a prime-time scorer during the past year. He had a number of games in the high 20’s and 30-point range during his stellar junior season. He can handle the ball and facilitate the offense with his excellent passing. He can score in the paint and has added a nice stroke from 3-point range to his offensive arsenal. He has an offer from Division I Jacksonville and a number of other Division II offers.
Breven McMullen 6’5″ Park Hills Central: A proven scoring threat who has developed from a young Stretch 4 into a bonafide bucket-getter who can score from all three levels. He has an excellent game in the low post with a nice turnaround jumper. He has developed an array of escape moves to score off the dribble and his 3-point jumper is strong. He has also increased his athleticism over the course of his career. He has received Division II offers from Maryville and UMSL.
Mark Cann 6’5″ Raytown South: A returning Class 4 All-State player, Cann is an excellent 3-point shooter who compliments Raytown South’s penetrating guards perfectly. He can really stretch the defense with his shooting off the catch. During the summer, he displayed a very effective drive game to go along with his perimeter shooting. He also has good length, which comes in handy on the defensive end on a team that likes to apply full-court pressure.
Devon Barshow 6’6″ McCluer: A slim scoring wing player who is starting to come into his own as a player later in his career. He has grown several inches since entering his school and his game has grown along with it. He is an excellent perimeter shooter from 3-point range with the ability to attack the basket off the dribble. He is thin, but he takes the contact. He is a weight room away from being a real formidable prospect. He holds an offer from Division II Lindenwood University.
Nate Garrett 6’5″ Hazelwood Central: A talented wing player with good size and a potent offensive game when he has things going. As a youngster, he was a good defensive player who could attack the basket off the dribble. His overall game on offense has developed to the point where he can knock down 3-pointers and create jumpers off the dribble in the mid-range area. He enjoyed a very good summer playing with the SW IL Jets.
Harrison Vickers 6’5″ Chaminade: The swiss-army-knife of Chaminade, the talented lefty plays anywhere from the point guard to the power forward spot. He handles the ball well and makes good decisions and good passes. His rebounding game is strong, especially on the offensive boards. He has improved his 3-point stroke and he can score in transition. As a junior, he averaged 13 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game.
Cade Blevins 6’4″ Logan-Rogersville: A rather unheralded wing player who has the perimeter skills and athletic ability to be a strong prospect. As a junior, he helped Rogersville to a spot in the Class 4 Final Four. He is a dynamic athlete who can rise up and dunk on people, but he also brings some solid handles and a nice stroke from 3-point range.
J.J. Schwepker 6’5″ Fort Zumwalt South: A sharpshooting swingman who has been a mainstay at FZS since his freshman year. He helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class 5 state quarterfinals as a sophomore and averaged 16 points five rebounds and hit 40 percent from 3-point range (66 made 3s) as a junior in helping the Bulldogs to a 24-3 record. He has improved in other facets off his game from his ball handling and passing. He recently picked up an offer from Division II Missouri S&T.
Justice Thoma 6’4″ Cape Notre Dame: A thick-bodied wing player who returns as one of the top players in Southeast Missouri. He averaged 11 points a game as a junior and those numbers should increase this season as he leads a team that could challenge for a SEMO Conference title and a district title in 2020. He attacks the basket well and has the ability to knock down the mid-range jumper or explode and throw down a dunk at the rim.
