Ryan Kalkbrenner 7’0″ Trinity: The skilled big capped off a great summer by being named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Nike EYBL after leading the circuit in blocked shots. He also showcased his overall skill set during the summer with his ball handling, low-post scoring and perimeter shooting from 3-point range. As a junior, he averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in leading the Titans to the Class 3 state quarterfinals. He is mulling over offers from Kansas, Stanford, Purdue, Creighton among others.
Davion Bradford 7’0″ Mehlville: A big, physical post player who does most of his damage in the paint area. He shot nearly 70 percent from the field during Nike EYBL play with MoKan Elite and helped them win a Peach Jam title. His activity around the basket also matches his physicality. As a junior, he averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks to help the Panthers to the Class 5 state quarterfinals. He has schools such as Missouri, Kansas State, Kansas, SLU, Texas A&M and others vying for his services.
Kian Scroggins 6’7″ Raymore-Peculiar: A big-bodied lefty with has an excellent touch and a nice set of post moves around the basket. His footwork his good and he finishes strong with drop steps, dunks and reverse layups. He is a tough rebounder who plays with very good second effort. He is also a secondary ball handler for his high school team who can also pass the ball and knock down 3-pointers off the catch. He has Division I offers from UMKC, Sam Houston State and a number of Division II offers.
Devion Harris 6’7″ Parkway Central: An impressive post player who has steadily expanded his game over the course of his career. He is a solid athlete with good length, which helps him excel as a shot blocker. In the past year, he has improved his perimeter skills with a drive game and solid jump shot. As a junior, he averaged 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks a game. He has received an offer from Division II Lindenwood University.
Eric Northweather 6’8″ Blair Oaks: An excellent frontcourt prospect out of Mid-Missouri with a versatile skill set. He has a nice shooting touch in the paint with jump hooks and the ability to score with both hands. He is mobile and loves to run the court and finish in transition. He was really knocking down 3-pointers during the summer, making him an excellent pick-and-pop option. He already has an offer from Missouri Western.
Brandon Ellington 6’6″ Cardinal Ritter: An athletic lefty who is one of the most explosive post players in the state. He has the ability to dunk on anybody and anytime around the basket. His long arms and athletic ability make up for his lack of height inside. He also plays with a high motor and he loves to rebound at both ends. He averaged seven points and eight rebounds on a loaded Ritter team last season. He also has a nice shooting touch from about 10-12 feet.
Alex Martini 6’8″ Carthage: A very mobile 220-pound power forward who is strong in the post, but he is also very comfortable making plays on the perimeter with his ball handling and passing. He can take down the rebound and lead the break without an outlet pass and he can also score on floaters and hooks in the lane with a nice touch. He plays with a very good motor.
Frazier Ott 6’8″ Chaminade: A much improved post player who has attracted a lot of Division III interest after a very productive summer. He uses his size well in the paint and has good fundamentals and footwork. He has an excellent jump hook and he knows how to get himself into position to score. His passing game and 3-point shooting are also very solid.
Elijah Bishop 6’6″ Soldan: A physical power forward who has a textbook set of post moves and uses them all effectively. He is less athletic than others, but he makes up for it with his footwork and physical strength. He has the drop step, jump hook over either shoulder and turnaround jumper in his arsenal. He has worked hard to become a good 3-point shooter during the past two years as well.
Evan Schneider 6’6″ Ladue: A burly post player who plays like a bull in a china shop in the post and it is very effective. He strikes a commanding presence in the post with how he sits down and gives a big target. He finishes well with drop steps and dunks in traffic. He will also make an open 3-pointer off the catch. He also passes well out of the double teams. He averaged 10 points and eight rebounds in helping Ladue to a Final Four berth in Class 4 a year ago.
