Northfield – Ryan Driscoll. Ryan has been an assistant at Northfield the past seven seasons so he was a natural to move into the position of head coach. He inherits a solid team that won 18 games a year ago and is now in Class AAAA which may be easier to win than section 1AAA because of Austin.
Minnetonka – Bryce Tesdahl. Tesdahl has been a star at Crosby-Ironton and Bemidji State as a player, coaches at UMD as an Assistant plus was the head coach at New Prague and East Ridge before taking the coaching and teaching job at Tonka. The Skippers have a solid group but they are in the toughest section on planet Earth.
Prior Lake – Jon Miller. Miller was the long time assistant at Shakopee before helping at Prior Lake recently. Miller is a veteran who has spent many years learning from Bruce Kugath and he will need all of that knowledge because the pressure is on immediately. Prior Lake has a five star stud in Dawson Garcia and a D1 level talent in Tyree Ihenacho, a team that will be top five entering the year. But they are in Section 2AAAA so making state will be a tough item for any team in the section.
Eagan –Kevin McKenzie. McKenzie is the former coach at both St. Paul Academy and Roseville High Schools. McKenzie takes over an Eagan team that lost 12 of their last 15 games but the 11 they won was more than expected. McKenzie inherits a solid group of players led by Kurt Ohlhues and Finn O’Malley.
East Ridge – Josh Peltier. Josh was likely entering the most pressure packed situation in the state for new coaches but Kendall Brown leaving for prep school has lifted some of those expectations. With Ben Carlson back, and a very talented group of juniors and sophomores, the Raptors will still be one of the state’s better teams.
Roseville – Alexander Culver. Culver is a special education teacher at Wayzata, a four year player at Winona State, and the new coach at Roseville. The Raiders won a ten games a year ago.
Minneapolis SW – Keenan Shelton. Shelton was the head coach at Rosemount and is now the head coach at Southwest . Many also now Shelton for his time spent coaching 15 and Under players in the Howard Pulley program as well.
Elk River – Ryan Servaty . Servaty has been the long time assistant coach at Elk River and now he steps into the big job as head man. Servaty has been coaching the Minnesota Comets at various age levels for several years including the top 16u team this past summer.
