I’ve never heard a coach say "we already have enough shooting". It may be the most valuable skill in the game today. I recently pulled up to a Pangos event in Bakersfield. It was there that I got a chance to watch some of the best shooters Central Cali has to offer.

EJ West 5’10 PG Centennial 2023 – West was most effective in catch and shoot situations. He does a good job of staying shot ready, and shoots it naturally from range. Knocked down a couple of 3’s in the 2023 game, but even his misses looked good.

A.J Johnson 5’11 PG San Joaquin Memorial 2023 – Johnson is most effective shooting off the bounce. He uses rhythm dribbles to get his feet set, and the threat of his quickness to create space. Shoots it well off catch and shoot action from 3. May have to tweak a couple of his mechanics, but he releases it from the same point every time.

Mike Gentry 6’0 SG North 2020 – Gentry is most effective in pull ups. He can do it either in transition for 3, or off 1 dribble from mid – range. Textbook form and follow
