The event brought together several future scholarship athletes. In this article PH takes a look at the top 10 prospects from this event.
- Jo – Jo Hunter 6’4 SF San Joaquin Memorial 2022 –Willing defender, capable of guarding multiple positions. Doesn’t have to score to impact the game. Assuming he stays healthy, and adds an inch or two I fully expect him to be a High Major.
- AJ George 6’6 SF Hoover 2021–George is extremely intriguing. At first glance, I thought he was an under sized post, however he showed a lot of versatility and a good floor game. Can definitely be successful at the wing. He’s good at slashing, and showed the ability to step outside and knock down 3’s.
- Bentley Waller 5’6 PG GSA Prep 2024 –I was really impressed with Waller. High IQ, and a natural feel for the game. He has a tight handle, and already understands how to draw 2 and deliver on time and on target passes.
- A.J Johnson 5’11 PG San Joaquin Memorial 2023 – There was a lot to like about Johnson. He has a nice skill set. Can knock down jumpers off catch and shoot action, has a good handle, and already has the ability to finish with both hands.
- Charlie Stump 6’4 PF Bakersfield Christian 2023 – May be more of a long term project, but if he hits he’s going to be good. Already a very good athlete who runs the floor well. Good rebounder and defender. Offensively he finishes around the rim well with his right. How quickly he develops his left will go a long way in determining his ceiling.
- Orion Tomilson 6’0 PG San Joaquin Memorial 2022 – Quick shifty point guard that can create offense. Drive first player, however he’s effective with his mid-range shooting. More of a combo guard than a pure PG.
- Kam Manning – Fuimaono 5’10 SG Monterey Trail 2023 – Instant offense player. Fuimaono is a crafty ballhandler who understands how to use angles and speeds to create space. Good shooter with the ability to knock down open shots.
- Kyree Dunn 6’1 PG Burbank 2020 – Dunn is a shifty PG with a great handle. quick first step and blow by ability. Good at creating a shot for himself. Dunn is ranked #58 in the PH Nor Cal C/O 2020.
- Tyus Parrish-Tillman 6’7 PF Fresno Christian 2022 – Can’t teach size and Tillman has an abundance of that. Good rim protector with an ever improving offensive game. Showed good hands, and a nice touch around the rim. If he happens to grow another couple of inches, he’ll be a sweet find for someone.
- David Whatley 6’3 SF Bakersfield 2020 – Whatley was the MVP of the 2020 game. Unique player with an elite skill. He is a vacuum rebounder with great hands. He is going to be undersized, however with his length and defensive versatility he may be able to pull it off.
