Question:
Whats the biggest strength of your game?
Carter Pline:
I would say the biggest strength to my game is my motor and energy, crashing the boards on both sides of the court and grabbing loose balls is really what I take pride in along with my defense.
Question:
You recently received an offer from Elmhurst College. How does it feel?
Carter Pline:
Elmhurst is a great school that has had a lot of success in these recent years. I loved the area and the coaching staff and I look forward to being back on campus. I really feel thankful for the coaches, not only from Elmhurst, but all colleges willing to invest in me and reach out to me.
Question:
What part of college basketball are you excited about?
Carter Pline:
I would say that I am most excited about the grind in college, the 6AM lifts and conditioning and workouts, it’s something I look forward to, because it’s something I know that will help me grow as a player and a person.
Question:
Is there any aspect of playing at the next level that you’re nervous about?
Carter Pline:
I wouldn’t say there’s a specific part that im nervous about for college, probably just being away from home and my friends back here, but I know that with leaving there comes a lot of new opportunities so I’m also pretty excited to move towards college.
Question:
What are you doing this fall to prepare for high school season?
Carter Pline:
To prepare for this high school season I’ve been getting shots up constantly. I’ve been aiming for roughly 600 made a week to make opponents respect my game from out further as well. I’ve also been working with a few individuals from around the community to work on my leadership skills because I know that’s going to play a big part in my senior year and when I go down to college.
Question:
Is there a game youre looking forward to next season?
Carter Pline:
I usually look forward to every game, but this year is definitely different, with not really reaching our goals last year the team is really looking at this whole season as a chance to prove people wrong and get back at opponents we fell short to last season.
Question:
What was the biggest key in becoming the great basketball player you are today?
Carter Pline:
I would say definitely my family. My brother and I would be outside and doing drills around cones ever since we were young. He was the one who put a competitive spirit in me and who made me hate to lose. Next is my parents, with both of their work ethics, seeing them work so hard for what they love and their craft made me want to go that much harder when I was at the gym or working out.
Question:
What professional player does your game remind you of?
Carter Pline:
If I had to choose an NBA player I would model my game after I would have to say Paul George, with his intensity and two way play. I’ve always loved that about any player and it’s something I feel I contribute a lot and that helps my teammates feed off is my energy and willingness to sacrifice. So if I had to choose one I would have to say Paul George.
