Class of 2022 Top 20 Standouts
Barrington Hargress, Ribet Academy
Hargress is a bulldozer of a scorer in transition. At 6-foot with a strong, burly frame, the point guard finishes through contact with ease and uses his combination of strength and speed to get by defenders and into the paint in both transition and half-court settings. Hargress plays with a fearless mentality and a high motor on both ends of the floor.
Ben Shtolzberg, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame
Shtolzberg wasn’t shy about letting ‘em fly from all over the court. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is a capable 3-point shooting threat with time and space, but he’s improved his ball handling against pressure and first step on the perimeter, which has helped his ability to create shots for himself and others.
Benny Gealer, Rolling Hills Prep
Gealer is one of the more fearless scorers in all of Southern California and he does so in a variety of ways. The 6-foot shooting guard is a knock down shooter off the catch and can hit pull-up mid-range jumpers off the bounce. What will continue to separate Gealer as one of the prolific scorers in the region is the fact that he’s connecting on his full-speed floater at a consistent rate.
JSerra point guard Isaac Peralta scored a game-high 31 points in the Pangos Best of SoCal Fall Showcase Top 20 sophomore game.Gabriel Quiette, Mater Dei
Quiette has been battling injuries over the last year, so it was good to see him on the floor looking healthy. The 6-foot-5 wing has a long, wiry frame to go along with his fluid athleticism. Quiette has good ball skills, plays at a nice pace and see’s the floor well off the wing in the half-court setting. At this point, he’s a slasher and finisher who uses his smoothness and craftiness around the basket to finish around length.
Isaac Peralta, JSerra
Peralta scored a game-high 31 points and did so in impressive variety. The 6-foot point guard hit pull-up and catch-and-shoot triples with consistency and used his change of pace to get to the basket and finish with a crafty layup. Peralta showed improved vertical athleticism, as well, with a couple of above the rim finishes.
