Arkansas Basketball Combine: 2021 Notes and Evals
Keylon Harris (6’0 160 Parkview)
Smooth is the word that kept coming up in the gym when referring to Keylon. He is lightening quick with the ball in his hand and can leave defenders in the dust with his first step. Extremely difficult to keep in front. Defense can’t afford to give him a cushion either, because he can also make you pay from long distance.
Kamron Wilkins (6’0 170 Watson Chapel)
Quality point guard who is a nice creator off the bounce. Gets more out of his behind the back dribble than most other guards. Strong pull-up and step back mid-range game.
Trey Allen (6’0 175 Russelville)
Very good burst and quick-twitch athleticism. Gets out and flies down the floor in transition. Very good hands on the defensive end. Can pick your pocket or get out in the passing lanes for deflections. Relentless motor and competitor.
Parker Gordon (6’2 150 Catholic)
Every time I walked onto a court where Parker was on the floor he was making plays in transition. Gets deep on his drives and makes the right reads. He can go from 60 to 0 in a hurry and his transition pull-ups were automatic.
Jacob Joe (6’1 145 Fort Smith Northside)
Big time shooter with a smooth stroke and deep range. Hard to not start drawing comparisons to his big brother. Confident pulling up off the bounce, dead-eye catch and shoot. His athleticism has increased substantially over the last several months and he is becoming an equal threat as a slasher. Length is disruptive defensively.
Tristan Batie (6’6 165 Gravette)
Long, rangy forward that projects well as a size mismatch on the wing or a pick and pop stretch-4 threat. Sneaky athleticism with above the rim bounce. Range on the jumper. Competes on both ends on the glass.
Sayvion Brock (6’6 205 Russelville)
They don’t make them anymore with the type of character and resolve that Sayvion possesses. Big time, physical athlete. Plays above the rim. Was a force on the glass and particularly as a rim protector that blocked anything in his reach.
Tracy Steele (6’3 165 North Little Rock)
Another combo guard that really excels in transition and absolutely explodes off the jump and finishes with authority. Very impressive athleticism. Not just a poster-alert, he is a sniper from three point land as well.
Josh Denton (6’3 180 Maumelle)
Two things college coaches crave, guys who make those around them better and guys who can connect from three. Josh brings both to the table. Great teammate. Loud, active, vocal leader on the floor. He was one of the best shooters in the gym both in testing and in game play.
Darvis Rasberry (6’3 200 Maumelle)
Darvis is the type of undersized forward that I have seen excel time and time again at the small college level. He is a beast. Very strong and physical. Tireless rebounder with a non-stop motor. Polished around the rim. He can give you buckets by bullying you or using some fancy footwork.
