With a first team, there’s usually a second – and that’s what we have here. Many of these players could easily rotate in with the first team, but it’s always about best fit. We’ve found this to be a solid lineup on paper.
These all-star teams are just a fun way to bring together some talent and think “what if”. It isn’t necessarily about the top ranked players but more so the fit that they have together. Which, is the biggest difference between first and second team, putting the best fit together.
Second Team
G Eli Burke (6’0” / Africentric): Burke is ready to take another step forward this winter with the Nubians. An athletic guard who can score it from all over, handles it well and creates for others. Burke defends, and is hard to stop off the dribble. A competitor at all times, I’m a big fan of the juniors game. Would be the general of this starting five.
WG Garner Wallace (6’5” / Pickerington Central): Garner Wallace’s time is now at Pickerington Central. The 2021 wing is a two way player that can go. Affects the game with his length, and the ability to guard multiple positions. Wallace can score inside as a slasher at a high rate, as well as create off the bounce to the hoop. Capable shooter that gets it done, too. Wallace will see a spike in production this winter deservingly so. The Tiger can guard the opposing team’s best player, and come back down and give him a bucket with no problem.
WF Desmond Watson (6’4” / DeSales): I’ve been a big fan of Watson since the first time I’ve watched him. Truly one of the overlooked players in the class of 2021. Watson is a matchup problem for forwards because he can handle the ball, elusive finisher that converts at a high clip. If he gets to basket, you can guarantee it’s going in. Watson would bring a to this lineup.
WF Carter Jones (6’5” / Centerburg): Carter Jones attends a small school, but he can play with the best of them. Jones has grown in height as well as become more fluid with his movement. Still a tough rebounder inside that can score off putbacks and post-moves. Also, Jones can stretch it dee with a smooth jumper that is money. The junior would bring a scoring threat as well as rebounding to this stacked lineup.
PF Magnus Entenmann (6’8” / Upper Arlington): A player with a ton of upside may finally be that guy for Upper Arlington. Magnus brings a long frame to the floor, as well as shot blocking ability. Entenmann can stretch the floor, which would really benefit this lineup. Capable shooter from the three point line, as well as mid-range. Entenmann is going to be even better as he fills in his 6-8 frame.
