What better time than now to take a look at the area of Central Ohio, and the seniors. In this series we will take a look at a first-team, as well as second. This is basically an area all star team, with a twist. There are many talented players that could fill these roles without a doubt.
These all-star teams are just a fun way to bring together some talent and think “what if”. It isn’t necessarily about the top ranked players but more so the fit that they have together. Which, is the biggest difference between first and second team, putting the best fit together.
First Team:
G CJ Anthony (6’0” / Harvest Prep): Anthony is maybe the toughest player in the area. Downhill scoring machine that converts a high rate at the rim. A future D1 mid major, Anthony is one of the best in the area. Coming off a state championship last season, Anthony is set up for a successful senior year. Once again is projected to score a ton of points for Harvest Prep. The senior also has the ability to get others involved. It wasn’t a hard pick of who would take this spot.
G Matt Allocco (6’4” / Hilliard Bradley): Allocco has been committed to Princeton for a bit now, a solid landing spot for him. A tall lead guard who can handle it but also work without the ball setting up in the post, taking advantage of mismatch opportunities. The senior is crafty and finishes at the rim strong as anyone. A strong rebounder, racks up assists and a lengthy defender. The Bradley student adds some versatility to this backcourt combo, as either can handle it.
WG Hunter Shedenhelm (6’5” / Pickerington North): The Panther wing has separated himself as one of the best two-way players in the area. Also, potentially the best shooter in the area. Shedhelm plugs into this lineup as a shooter who could get a lot of attempts, as the rest aren’t known for their shooting. At 6-foot-5 Hunter can lock up the opposing team’s best scoring threat, so that’s huge. Pickerington North will once again be very talented this year, their senior is a big reason why. A division two must get for many coaches.
WF Von Cameron Davis (6’5” / Walnut Ridge): Fresh off his Kent State commitment, this was a no brained. Von Cameron was the most productive player in the area last year, and will be again this season many suggest. Davis scores it inside at a high rate, out muscling and out working the opponent. A walking double-double at all times. Davis is opening his game up a bit more, as he predicts to be a small forward at the college level. It would be a ton of fun to see the Scot senior in this lineup.
F Luke Lachey (6’6” / Grandview Heights): When he isn’t scoring touchdowns he’s likely beating your team in the post. Lachey is an Iowa football commit, but a very talented basketball player too, who even holds a division one offer. Lachey is athletic, has some bounce and moves well on the court. A lob threat, that can also handle the ball and score from outside the paint. The Bobcat senior could be virtually un-guard able in this lineup.
