Now lets explain what I mean by ‘cool’. We AREN’T talking about a most popular vote or a headcount of friends. When I say cool, I mean someone that can’t be fazed on the basketball court. I’m talking about someone that comes to the gym with an aura. When they walk in, everyone can sense it and turns to look. They play and conduct themselves with an unflappable confidence.
So here it is, 5 seniors that are way cooler than me:
Maliq Carr (SF, Oak Park)
He’s a high level prospect in both football and basketball. Carr is aggressive going to the rim, having the athleticism to create space and the strength to bulldog his way to the bucket. He’s what a lot of little kids dream of being.
Didier Ngambo (SF, Taylor Prep)
Being able to make your own highlight reel is pretty cool. My highlight reel would be hitting the net with my vertical and banking in a 3. Meanwhile, Ngambo is finishing a fast break with a dunk and throwing back opponents shots.
Steve Pearson (SG, Detroit Northwestern)
Amazing leaping ability is definitely cool, and Pearson has it. Honestly, he could have won a college dunk contest when he was 14. Pearson does what I can’t do on a nerf hoop in my room.
Sir’Real Smith (SG, Saginaw)
If I was a version of Sir’Real, my name would have to be Sure’Wish. I sure wish I had his grit and determination on the basketball court. Smith just grinds and gets buckets.
Jalen Terry (PG, Flint Beecher)
Terry makes plays that the rest of us wish we could. From a no look pass in transition to an eye popping dunk, he can do it all. Terry does things on the court that I’ve consistently messed up in the backyard.
