On the 22nd, the Top 250 Expo will travel back to Virginia where it will take place at Riverbend High School. In anticipation of the upcoming expos in the area, we’re in the process of highlighting 30 prospects who benefited respectively from last year’s local showcases. Today, we take a look at 2021 guard Jordan Hawkins of DeMatha.
PRE-CAMP
Hawkins was regarded as one of the better long-term prospects in attendance heading into last year’s expo with an offer from Norfolk State already under his belt. He came off a solid freshman campaign at Gaithersburg, and the first thing we noticed was how much he had grown since the high school season.
DURING CAMP
On both ends of the floor, Hawkins found multiple ways to make an impact throughout the day. His feel for the game was evident early and often on the offensive end. Defensively, he used his athleticism to make impact plays at the rim and on the perimeter.
POST-CAMP
Hawkins would go on to have a highly productive sophomore campaign for the Trojans. Shortly after the season, he received offers from Mount St. Mary’s and James Madison. George Washington and Bryant also offered Hawkins a few months later. He recently transferred to DeMatha and is currently touted as one of the best options on the wing in the local 2021 class.
