On the 22nd, the Top 250 Expo will travel back to Virginia where it will take place at Riverbend High School. In anticipation of the upcoming expos in the area, we’re in the process of highlighting 30 prospects who benefited respectively from last year’s local showcases. Today, we take a look at 2020 guard James Berry of Bishop Ireton.
PRE-CAMP
Berry was coming off a good AAU season with Mid Atlantic Select 16’s, and despite not having much meaningful experience at the varsity level, he was heading into last year’s showcase with some positive momentum. The Prep Hoops Staff certainly had his name circled as a player to watch during the event.
DURING CAMP
It didn’t take long for Berry to show all the things he had been working on over the summer. He scored it well from all three levels. Berry, who is a sneaky good athlete, also did his due diligence on the boards while making plays for others.

POST-CAMP
Berry would go on to have a breakout junior campaign. He was one of the best players on a pesky Ireton team that gave PVI all they could handle in the WCAC Quarterfinals. Berry saw his recruitment expand over the summer. He picked up several division one offers and remains one of the best available guards in the DMV area.
