We will look at the Most Outstanding Player at the Top 250 from the sophomore class. We will also look at 4 Honorable Mentions that had great performances as well.
* If you aren’t on the list, it doesn’t mean you didn’t have a great day. Watching hundreds of players makes it impossible to see everyone’s best moments.
Most Outstanding Player
Brady Titus (5’10”, PG, Tri-Unity Christian)
At the Top 250, one year ago, I claimed that Titus has Division 1 potential. Well, he’s making me look pretty smart. Titus is an excellent ball handler that’s explosive, yet poised and under control. He has a strong understanding of when and what his team needs. If there’s a mismatch on the floor, Titus finds it. If his team needs a bucket, Titus can get it. He’s a solid leader, especially for a sophomore. His team recognized that it was important for him to initiate the ball movement each possesion.
Honorable Mention
Cooper Craggs (6’6″, F, Detroit Catholic Central)
Craggs had an outstanding day at the Top 250. He uses his strength well, showing the ability to play physical with juniors and seniors. With his versatile game, Craggs will be highly sought after by college coaches.
Ethan Dunn (6’10”, C, East Lansing)
This young man could have a huge future in the game of basketball. He was not imtimidated matching up with junior or senior post players. College coaches will drool over a young big man with feet and a soft touch like Dunn has.
Carson Sanders (6’4″, SG, Hanover Horton)
Coaches at the Top 250 were raving about Sanders. He had the look of a smooth shooter off the catch or the dribble. Sanders could handle the ball, and may actually be deemed a combo guard. To top it off, he’s an energy player with tons of hustle.
Kyler Vanderjagt (6’3″, SF, Northview)
This kid is special. His size and strength scream adult, but he plays the game with a youthful exuberance. Vanderjagt is a true 3 level scorer. Talking to him after the event makes you realize, he’s the type of young man that coaches want in their locker room.
