While the 2020 class has been slow moving as far as commitments are concerned, each of these five players are legitimate Division 1 prospects and three have already announced their college destination. Here is your new top five players in Washington’s senior class.
1) Tari Eason (Garfield HS)
One of the biggest stock risers on a national level, Tari performed well throughout the spring and summer on the circuit and in the camp scene. His motor and athleticism is what sets him apart at this stage of his career. Tari’s list of potential college destinations includes Cincinnati, USC, Maryland, Florida and more. Tari has catapulted himself into the top 100 nationally and he is more than deserving of the number one ranking in Washington.
2) Jabe Mullins (Mt. Si HS)
Another big time stock riser from the spring and summer. Jabe tore up the adidas Gauntlet with Team LaVine and he attracted more than a dozen Division 1 offers from all over the country in the process. When it came down to it, Jabe decided Saint Mary’s was the best fit for him and multiple colleges reached out to me stating the Gaels got a good one. Jabe was previously ranked fifth in the state, but his ability to play 1-3 and score from every level is undeniable.
3) Mitchell Saxen (Ingraham HS)
The 6’10 center retains his number three ranking in the latest update. You know exactly what you are going to get with Saxen and he brought that to the table this club season. I watched multiple games of his online and he brought his usual shot blocking and rim running ability to the game. He is slowly starting to fill out and that will suit him well for the next level. He will join Team LaVine teammate Jabe Mullins at Saint Mary’s following his senior season.
4) Tyler Patterson (Mt. Si HS)
Tyler also retains his ranking at number four. The 6’7 shooting guard had some really good moments for Team LaVine, but also Mt. Si as they traveled the west coast playing against top competition. He has found his niche as a 3 and D player, but he is focused on continuing to expand his game to put the ball on the floor and get stronger. Tyler will be off to Montana State in a year.
5) Kendall Munson (Garfield HS)
The 6’8 forward has been on colleges’ radar for some time. Kendall had a good junior year at Puyallup before transferring to Rainier Beach and most recently Garfield where he will suit up for his senior year. Kendall has been on multiple visits and San Diego and Pepperdine are believed to have gained momentum in his recruiting.
