Moving On: The four senior starters that graduated were 6-foot-5 Tucker West, 6-foot-3 Carson Devericks, 6-foot-7 Aidan Evans, and 5-foot-11 Patrick Niyonshuti. Tucker West averaged 13 points a game, Carson Devericks ten, and Aidan Evans 9.5 points a contest. Devericks and Evans were the team’s top rebounders while Patrick Niyonshuti was a top defender. West took a dozen shots a game with about half of them coming at the arc.
Returning Starters: Six-foot 180 pound junior guard Tyler Feldkamp led Roosevelt with 14.5 points a game earning all state honors. Tyler was one of the state leaders in steals and he’s a player that took 12-13 shots a game while also creating for others consistently. Feldkamp is one of the state’s top basketball prospects regardless of class or age.
Reserves Playing a Bigger Role: The Roosevelt bench was all sophomores and juniors Five-foot-10, 160 pound point guard Tucker Large was the top Roosevelt passer and shot creator in his 20 minutes coming off the bench. Large took four or five shots a contest but he would create nearly twice that each contest. Six-foot-2 Adam Kusler was one of the more active players for Roosevelt a year ago and now he’s a strong 6-foot-2 and ready to battle at either forward spot. Adam often came of the bench and instantly was an offensive item that defenses need to keep a body in front of.
Six-foot-5, 215 pound Brandon Dannerbring also played off the Roosevelt bench as a sophomore rebounding and scoring near the rim as the 8th man. Dannerbring is a now a junior that is the odds on favorite to start in the post.
Potentials from the JV: Six-foot-2, 190 pound Michael Paulson junior forward was the 9th man who added depth to the bench last year and played JV. Junior Jackson McCormick is a six foot guard that also played a bit of varsity plus JV. Junior guard Gabe Glanzer and junior forward Brandon Dannerbring will also add depth to this team.
