Tyler Borowski – PG – Appleton East
East loses Kaden Clark and a few other key seniors from last season. Borowski played in 21 games last season, averaging 2.9 points per game as a freshman. A skilled point guard with an advanced offensive package. Borowski has takeover ability from the floor general spot and should be one of the bigger surprises in the Fox Valley Association this season.
Chevalier Emery – G – Neenah
Emery wasn’t on the varsity roster for West De Pere last season, but should be an impact player for Neenah. Emery is a lights out shooter with tremendous range. He’ll give the Rockets a strong outside shooting presence and certainly help with their floor spacing.
Jack Campion – PG – Milton
Coming off a 4-19 season, Milton is going to need Campion to take the reigns. Campion did play in 23 games as a freshman, including 22 starts, averaging a team-best 12.9 points and 5.4 assists per game. A lightning-quick floor general with some of the best burst in the state,
Leon Bond – F – Wauwatosa East
Bond averaged 5.5 points per game as a freshman. If the way he played in July was any indication, Bond’s numbers are going to soar in 2019-20. The 6-foot-5 forward jumped up to No. 2 in our class of 2022 player rankings. An athletic, high motor combo forward, Bond is just starting to scratch the surface and arguably has the best upside of anyone in his class.
Ashton Janowski – PG – Pewaukee
The Pirates have a lot of young talent, but look for Janowski to move to the forefront. As a freshman, Janowski was fourth on the team in scoring at 7.5 ppg. An exciting young guard with tight handles, explosive quickness to the basket, and a blue collar identity, Janowski proved his worth as a top 15 prospect in the state over the summer.
Jackson Paveletzke – SG – Kimberly
Word around Appleton is that Paveletzke is quietly grinding his way to a breakout season. While he didn’t play varsity last season, Paveletzke figures to be a strong candidate for a starting job under Lucky Wurtz next season. A skilled and crafty guard who can knock down and create shots, Paveletzke should compliment Jake Buchanan and Grant Asman well.
Marshawn Robinson – SG – Waukesha South
The Blackshirts were in rebuilding mode last season and already have turned the keys to the car over to Robinson. The athletic and strong guard is a terrific piece to build around. Robinson has a lot of the athletic measurables you want, including blow-by speed and above the rim ability. He needs to improve his jumper and tighten his handles, but Robinson has shown solid progress with his skill development.
Jack Rose – SG – Westosha Central
Westosha Central was a very experienced team last season led by seniors. That said, Rose didn’t always get a chance to shine. With Jaeden Zackery and others now departing, Rose is going to the man. A sniper and two-way player with a big time motor, Rose averaged just over seven points per game as a freshman. Look for those numbers to roughly double in 2019-20.
Donovan Sparks – G – Nicolet
Sparks was part of Nicolet’s JV squad last season and is expected to give the Knights a substantial boost in 2019-20. A 6-foot-2 combo guard that loves to push the tempo and play in transition, Sparks is a terrific open floor presence. Running with Kobe Johnson and James Graham, Sparks should help keep Nicolet relevant in the Division 2 race and do some exciting things on the floor.
Max Weisbrod – G – DeForest
Weisbrod got his feet wet with the varsity last season and played some major minutes for the Norskies. With Austin Westra gone, DeForest will need Weisbrod to step up and be more assertive. A high-IQ guard that’s just a gamer, Weisbrod has a knack for the big shot. He won’t wow anybody with size, strength, or athleticism, but Weisbrod is a kid that gets the game and makes winning plays.
