This year was no different, as several prospects helped themselves by performing well at the event in front of media and scouts. Here is a brief look at five of the best perimeter defenders from the event.
PRINCE ALIGBE | 6’6 SF | MINNEHAHA ACADEMY (MN)
Aligbe has a long wingspan which along with his quick feet and high energy level allow him to consistently stay in front of opposing ball-handlers. Adversaries constantly found themselves having to reevaluate things when attempting to take him off the dribble on Saturday.
ZACK BLACKWELL | 6’0 G | LAKE CLIFTON
As per usual, Zack Blackwell strapped up his boots and came to play, especially on the defensive end. He consistently picked his man up in the backcourt and made things extremely difficult by applying unrelenting pressure on the ball.
ARNARDO CAMACHO | 6’3 G | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN
Camacho excelled on the defensive end as a result of sheer effort. He tirelessly worked to deny his man off the ball and this made things quite easy for him.
ELIJAH HAWKINS | 5’10 G | DEMATHA
When engaged, Hawkins showed why he was one of the better perimeter defenders in the gym at the camp. He’s super quick and reacts quickly when attacking the ball.
JALEN MILLER | 6’2 G | BISHOP WALSH
Miller used his blend of length and quickness to keep guys in front of him at all times. He did not give up any easy buckets in half-court or transition defense.
