This year was no different, as several prospects helped themselves by performing well at the event in front of media and scouts. Here is a brief look at five of the best passers defenders we saw at the camp.
DEVON BARNES | 6’0 G | LAWTON CHRISTIAN (OK) ’21
Barnes can get anywhere he wants to off the dribble, but is always playing with his head up. He’s a threat to complete a lob pass from half-court or thread the needle with a crisp pocket pass from a pick-and-roll.
RAHSOOL DIGGINS | 6’2 G | ARCHBISHOP WOOD (PA) ’21
Diggins showcased an impressive feel for the game throughout the event. He has awesome court vision, can work ball screens, and plays very unselfishly.
ISAAC JAMES | 6’5 F | ST. FRANCES (MD) ’21
James was probably the best passer among front-court prospects at this event. He’s really good at starting the break by grabbing a rebound and quickly delivering an accurate outlet pass.
BEZ MBENG | 6’3 G | GOOD COUNSEL (MD) ’21
Mbeng has incredible burst which along with his improving handle enable him to get into the paint at will. From there, he excels at finding others. Mbeng also showed he has the presence of mind to complete a simple look ahead pass in transition.
DUG MCDANIEL | 5’10 G | PAUL VI (VA) ’22
When it comes to playmakers, McDaniel was probably the most dynamic of the bunch. His high basketball IQ is exhibited in how timely and accurately he distributes the ball.
