David Gonzales (2020 Silverton) – Gonzales is an aggressive offensive player and he largely looked for his own offense during the camp scrimmages. The 6-foot guard was effective both shooting from the outside as well as using his body to get to the basket. Gonzales noted that after AAU basketball he’s been talking to the Air Force about the possibility of going to their prep school and that other D-II schools have shown interest.
Shaa Humphrey (2020 North Kitsap) – Humphrey is a big-bodied 6-foot-4 wing and he certainly used his physical advantages on the floor. While the rising senior was tough to move off of the block, he played more facing the basket and seemed comfortable with catch-and-shoot opportunities from mid-range to beyond the arc. Humphrey ran the floor well and was solid with his ball-handling and passing.
Blake Jensen (2020 Sherwood) – The main thing we have noticed about Jensen this summer has been his aggressiveness. The 6-foot-7 rising senior really looked to attack the basket and he finished pretty well around the hoop. Big men don’t usually get many touches in these types of settings but he ran the floor and got himself into positions to receive the ball.
Joe Juhala (2020 West Linn) – For whatever reason we often forget this fact but at 6-foot-7, Juhala is one of the bigger players in the state. At camp, he effectively tried to use that to his advantage. The rising senior was aggressive getting to the basket and while he was able to create his shots seemed to fall short. But Juhala did get some buckets as he was able to knock down some spot-up threes and was active on the boards.
Matt Levis (2020 Jesuit) – Levis had a solid all-around day at camp. The 6-foot combo guard played both backcourt spots and seemed to balance his own scoring and trying to set up others fairly well. Levis hit the perimeter shot with some consistency and worked hard to create off the dribble too. Defensively he stuck with his assignment as we have seen him do since high school season.
