With transfers, injuries and players blossoming, much could change but here is my last 8 of the 24 possible playoff teams for 6A:
On the road for 1st round (Play in game)
Liberty
-A young core of talent led by two big forwards with Soph Foune Doucoure and Freshman Seydou Tamboure. They do also have two older improving players with Sr bigger wing Jacob Patterson and Jr guard Miles Guliford.
Dobson
-This team will all be centered around their Sr stud post player Juhlawnei Stone (Cal Baptist commit). They have many senior shooters around him to keep the defense honest.
Mountain Ridge
-Not sure the health yet of Sr PG Matt Jensen (Injured in summer), but he will lead this team along with Sr PG Gino Ciccaglione. They also have Jr twin forwards with Aiden and Austin Clayton.
Highland
-The Hawks will be led by their talented backcourt in Sr Tanner Crandall and Jr PG Derrick Kaps.
La Joya
-They will be led by stud Sr PG Nahshon Harper. He will be helped by Sr Tre’ Lefebvre (coaches son) and two Jr forwards with Zach Blackwood and Willie Fragher.
Queen Creek
-Deep deep sleeper since they went 1-17 last year. They do have two budding young good players with Jr Calvin Gustafson and soph PG Raydon Thorson.
Red Mountain
-A pair of Sr forwards may lead the way for the Mountain Lions with Jackson Beecher and Jacob Zuniga.
Sandra Day O’Connor
-Lost a lot of talented seniors but have two good snipers left with Sr’s Kaelan Knaub and Jacob Koski. Look for Koski to have a big uptick in points this HS season.
