Continue ReadingAtlanta, Georgia – The Skills Factory 2023 Mack squad took the trip to Orlando, Florida this past week for the 2019 Jr. NBA Championships at the ESPN World Wide Complex located in Disney. The Jr. NBA World Championships, in it’s second season, brings together 8 United States regional teams and 8 international teams to compete for one championship title. The state of Georgia was fortunate enough to represent the southeast part of the region for the second summer in a row.
The TSF Mack 2023 squad were led by their dynamic point guard duo of 2023 PG Isaiah Collier of Wheeler High School and 2023 PG Kanaan Carlyle of Milton High School. Both Collier and Carlyle averaged 19.7 points per game to lead the TSF Mack squad in Orlando. The Skills Factory went 3-0 in their pool, after defeating other regional teams from the West, Central, and Northeast.
Bracket play began for this 2023 squad on Friday night and where they defeated the Midwest regional team. Saturday began the semifinals and U.S final rounds. The squad defeated and advanced in bracket play after defeating the South regional team but eventually were defeated in the U.S finals against the West regional team. This was the second season in a row that the Southeast regional team advanced to the U.S championship but unfortunately came up with the same result. The 2023 squad defeated Canada in the third place game and where 2023 F LT Overton led with 18 points.
