Isaiah Broady – DRE – Chandler
Broady flashed some great shooting, especially from 3, opening up the game for everyone else on his team to attack the rim. He also used his height – probably taller than everyone on the court – and long arms to collect rebounds and get second-chance points.
David Teibo and Patrick Chew – Soldiers – Centennial
The two of them are lumped together in this one because they played incredibly similar games. Both put up some points, but more important in their impact on offense was their screening and rebounds, helping guards attack the paint. Both were also taking turns protecting the rim, and ending successful defensive possessions with rebounds.
De’vontez Cobbs – DRE – Shadow Mtn.
Cobbs’ athleticism was unmatched in this game, as he used his speed and leaping ability to get shots at the rim and played great man defense. He also hit a few clutch 3’s late in the game that helped secure the victory.
Jake Lifgren – Soldiers – Centennial
When the Soldiers went down big in the early part of the second half, his 3-pointers from the corner were a big factor in making a comeback, and eventually even grabbing a lead. He also created some steals and deflections, and used them to create transition opportunities and get to the basket.
