The 17U All State First Team
Jalen Suggs of Grassroots Sizzle (Minnehaha Academy, Sr). Jalen was the Under Armour Association MVP. Suggs was second in UAA scoring, steals, and assists while also being a top ten rebounder overall. The 24 games that the Sizzle played were on the UAA circuit and in the Big Time Vegas event against shoe teams from Adidas and Nike, Jalen led his team to wins in two-thirds of the games.
Ben Carlson of D1 Minnesota (East Ridge, Sr). Carlson was a top 2-3 scorer and rebounder for his team all year but with Garcia out with an illness, Ben stepped forward to score a dozen points a game with seven boards a contest in July Adidas competition.
Dawson Garcia of D1 Minnesota (Prior Lake, Sr). Before an illness led to Dawson missing all of July, Dawson led D1 Minnesota in scoring in Adidas play. Garcia proved his five star status helping D1 Minnesota to the number one spot in the nation at 17u for two months.
Chet Holmgren of Grassroots Sizzle (Minnehaha Academy, Jr). Chet earned All UAA First Team honors by leading the league in blocked shots (by 45) plus he was second in field goal percentage, fourth overall in rebounding, and top 15 in scoring.
Kerwin Walton of D1 Minnesota (Hopkins, Sr). Walton’s 46 plus percent shooting at the arc ranked with the elite players in the nation and at the top of the Adidas circuit. He scored 15 points a game in July while helping D1 Minnesota to the top spot in the nation.
Charlie Katona
The 17U All State Second Team
Kendall Brown of D1 Minnesota (Sunrise Christian, KS, Jr). Brown was the fourth leading scorer for D1 Minnesota playing up a level.
Dain Dainja of Howard Pulley (Park Center, Sr). Dain averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds a game shooting 44 percent in EYBL play.
Drake Dobbs of D1 Minnesota (Eden Prairie, Sr). The point guard who controlled pace for D1 Minnesota while scoring when needed.
Charlie Katona of Minnesota Fury (Shakopee, Sr). Charlie will be named a Prep Hoops Circuit Hard Work Region first teamer for his play this year.
Noah King of Minnesota Comets (Caledonia, Sr). The Comets leader pushed his team to 39 wins in 50 games this 17u season.
Prince Aligbe
The 17U All State Third Team
Prince Aligbe of Grassroots Sizzle (Minnehaha Academy, Soph). Prince scored just over eight points a game for the Sizzle in UAA play this year.
Matthew Willert of Minnesota Comets (Buffalo, Sr). Willert was one of the top shooters in the Ny2La League this year.
Brady Williams of Minnesota Fury (Dover-Eyota, Sr). Few players on this list brought the same level of high % scoring, boards, passing, and defense.
Blaise Beauchamp of Howard Pulley (Dream City Christian AZ, Sr). Led Pulley in scoring at 16.8 points a game shooting 41.4 percent at the arc.
Steven Crowl of D1 Minnesota (Eastview, Sr). Few, if any teams in America had a third big like Crowl but 33-5 D1 Minnesota did.
Josh Brown
The 17U All State Fourth Team
John Henry of Minnesota Fury (Eden Prairie, Sr). Hit threes at a high level for Fury, defended at a high level as well for a 38-5 squad.
Josh Brown of Minnesota Heat (Park Center, Sr). One of the state’s elite shooters. Made the Heat a 30 game winner.
Jacob Jennissen of Matrix (Sauk Centre, Sr). Incredible transformation this season, a double-double guy, putback monster.
Tre Holloman of Howard Pulley (Cretin-Derham Hall, Soph). Led Pulley in assists, scored four times a game, did a great job of controlling pace.
Lu’Cye Patterson of FAB/Howard Pulley (Minnesota Prep Academy, Sr). Averaged 10 a game for Pulley, lost only one game as a FAB player.
Tyree Ihenacho
The 17U All State Fifth Team
Connor Christensen of D1 Minnesota (Eden Prairie, Sr). All Defensive Team first team, so many intangibles.
Tyree Ihenacho of Minnesota Select (Prior Lake, Sr). Played 3-4 spots for a team that won 40 games.
Jacob Hutson of Minnesota Fury (Edina, Sr). Has shown in the post that he’s a near 20 offer D1 guy.
Parker Nielsen of Minnesota Select (Prescott, WI, Sr). The type of July that has brought him several D2 offers.
Eli King of Minnesota Comets (Caledonia, Soph). The Minnesota MVP of the 17U Hard Work Region Final.
Reid Gastner
The 17U All State Sixth Team
Reid Gastner of Minnesota Comets (Lake City, Sr). Tough guy, tough shooter.
Jacob Johnson of Grassroots Sizzle (Champlin Park, Graduated). Played his way to a UMKC position.
Jack Wetzel of Gain Elite (Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Sr). Iowa shooter, top Gain Elite producer.
John Sutherland of Northern Lakers (Grand Rapids, Sr). Led Northern Lakers to a 25-10 season.
PJ Hayes of Comets DLR (Waconia, Sr). Multiple D2 offers after lead DLR to 27 wins in 40 games.
