Here is Part 3 in our look at prospects in Michigan that saw their stock rise this summer:
Sterling Scott (2020, 6’4″, SG, Detroit Renaissance, Michigan Tranzition)
Scott was outstanding all summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit. He proved that he could not just play with top competition, but could star. Scott is athletic and creative with the ball, making him a constant scoring threat.
Lorenzo Wright (2020, 5’10”, PG, Belleville, Michigan Warriors)
Wright has come so far in the last year and half. He’s become a true floor leader while keeping his aggressive nature. He can still hit from beyond the arc or use his quick first step and strong upper body, but he knows when and where to do it. Wright has turned himself into a next level talent.
Kobe Bufkin (2021, 6’3″, CG, Grand Rapids Christian, UTS Elite/The Family)
Bufkin started his ascent during high school season, but has done nothing but continue to rise during grassroots season. He can play on or off the ball, and at any pace. Bufkin has a pretty lefty jumper that he hits from anywhere with consistency. In my opinion, he’s a top 100 prospect in the country.
Ty Fortney (2021, 6’8″, F, Taylor Trillium, Downriver Badboyz)
Fortney took the state of Michigan by storm. He proved to be an elite athletic talent who was developing rapidly as a basketball player. There isn’t much that Fortney can’t do. He has incredible body control and is a nasty finisher at the rim.
Chris Smith (2022, 6’5″, PF, Saginaw Arthur Hill, The Program)
Smith was an intimidating prescense for The Program. He’s has incredible upper body strength and thrives in a physical game. Smith will attack the glass on both ends and is almost impossible to box out.
Brady Titus (2022, 5’10”, PG, Tri-Unity Christian, UTS Elite)
Titus continues to impress. He makes it nearly impossible for a defense to take him out of his game. Titus plays downhill on both ends, attacking the bucket and making plays on offense and pressuring the ball on defense.
