Ja’Bryant Hill 5’9 PG / 2020 / Duncanville HS [Team F.O.E.] PHTX150
Ja’Bryant is a quick point guard whose game has really grown over the Grassroots Season. He was already a known shooter from deep. When your shorter than most of your opponents your usually a really good shooter or a speedy guard. He does have the speed also, but his game took big leaps while playing on the Prep Hoops Circuit. He matched up against guards his size and bigger who had the same skill set and quickly adjusted his game and became a great facilitator. His timing and quick hands while guarding the ball also got better and he became one of the top on-ball defenders on the circuit. D1 Low Major/D2 should really look into recruiting this prospect. D3, NAIA, and JuCo’s should also get in on the mix as well.
DJ Stewart 5’11 PG / 2020 / Fort Bend Bush HS [Houston Raptors] PHTX150
DJ has been one of the most consistent prospects over the entire Grassroots season. He’s not a prospect who ever played down to his competitions level. He always went with his hard hat and tool belt on ready to take care of business. Dj is a quick deceptive point that throws some of the tightest dimes I’ve seen all Spring/Summer long. He is a true QB on the court with passes that make you say how did he fit that pass through there. His shooting ability has increased tremendously. He is a pass first point and has added a more consistent deep ball shot. DJ is a pesky defender who averaged over 3 on-ball steals a game not to include any loose ball pick-ups. He has a big time motor and dives after every loose ball. Would truly be a great addition to a D1 Low Major/D2 University. An absolute steal for a D3/NAIA program.
Nate Lacewell 6’7 F / 2020 / Legacy School of Sports Science [program_tooltip program_id='2078786' first='Cooz' last='Elite'] PHTX150 (as seen in the picture)
Nate has truly shown everyone that he is not just a tall long armed prospect. He shown off his ability to affect a game offensively from both outside the perimeter and inside the paint. Some have said he had a coming out party back in April. f you didn’t get a chance to see any Legacy games of course you would’ve thought this. His game had been consistent from his High School season. As he began to get stronger and more physical with his game is when the biggest improvement came. He was able to body defenders to create for himself. Has a great touch inside the paint and knocks down the long ball. When he gets going he is a streaky shooter from deep. Good footwork and is lengthy and athletic. D1 Mid-Low Major/D2 schools should be all over this prospect.
Ethan Yancy 6’4 SG / 2020 / Fort Bend Bush HS [RL9-Willis]
This prospect game has grown within his skill set. The 6’4 two is a prospect who can create for himself and is capable of dropping big numbers game after game. When he’s cooking goodnight, you won’t be stopping him when he gets going. He’s like a player from NBA Jam once he’s on fire everything goes in. Had a really solid year with Rashad Lewis program where he was put n a situation to become the face of the team and be the leader. This role helped his confidence tremendously which in turn was shown when he stepped foot on the court. He currently holds an offer from Bethel College [NAIA-D1] school in Kansas. Would be a great pickup for any D2/D3/NAIA program looking for an outside shooter with nice size and some athleticism.
Lonzo Rand 6’2 CG / 2020 / Spring Westfield HS [Houston Flight]
Out of all the prospects listed on this article, Lonzo was by far the prospect who made the biggest jump. After coming from a high school team that started with one roster and changed the entire roster in the middle of the season. He was placed into a leadership roles and had to carry his team. This is what truly began the transformation of this prospect. Went from averaging 12 points per game in his High School season to a 22 points per game average for his Grassroots team. No matter who they played against rather it was shoe teams or independent teams he was always the player to stop on the court. Bouncy two that scores at a good rate from all over the field and was a tough assignment game after game. Nice handle on the ball with great ball speed. Has a good build for his position and size. Would be a great addition for a D1 Low Major/D2 program.
