Markell Hood, 6’5, G, 2020, Blue Valley NW, KC Run GMC
Hood took his game to new heights this offseason as he gears up for a big season at Blue Valley Northwest and drew an offer from Division I Central Connecticut State on July 12. A talented all-around player, Hood does a little bit of everything well, including play defense at a high level at multiple positions. He handles the ball well and has earned a reputation as a player who can stick an open 3-pointer.
Bryce Johnson, 6’3, G/F, 2020, Lawrence, Primetime Ballerz
Johnson impressed this summer running with the Primetime Ballerz, a squad made up mostly of players from the Lawrence area. He has good size and length and can throw down dunks in transition, handle the ball and get to the basket for easy lay-ins. Johnson also impressed with his poise, leadership and high basketball IQ. he can handle some point guard duties, play off the ball on the wing and is a tough defender capable of guarding multiple positions.
Harper Jonas, G/F, Andover, NLHA Gaddis
A smart defensive player who showed the benefits of running a motion and never taking plays off. He got some easy looks around the basket and his stop and pop ability was on display as well as his overall toughness and speed in transition and off screens.
Shawn Warrior, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Haysville, Kansas Pray N Play
A strong inside-out player who can handle the ball, shoot from the perimeter and working hard in the paint or on the perimeter. He put together a strong weekend for Pray N Play, scoring the ball and playing solid defense. Warrior recently picked up offers from Newman and Mid-America Nazarene and is hearing from several other schools as well.
Braeden Wiltse, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Mill Valley, MoKan 2020
Wiltse is a long, athletic wing player who has mostly flown under the radar as a prospect but impressed during his time with MoKan 2020, earning an offer on July 27 from Doane. He has good height for a wing player and is a good defender and can surprise opponents with his length and shot blocking abilities. He can finish around the rim or looking to hand around the corner wing spot to knock down a 3. He has a similar game to what he defends and can connect from distance and use his slim, long frame to go inside and get a shot off.
