Standout Point Guards at Delano Spencer Elite Skills & IQ Camp
Delano Spencer held his first Elite Skills & IQ Camp in Lilburn, Georgia. What made this camp different from all the other basketball camps? It gave young players an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the game of basketball. Delano Spencer’s Elite Skills & IQ Camp stood-out to me because it incorporated film study, drills and 5-on-5.
“This camp pushed me to work hard. I enjoyed the high energy and the opportunity to learn more about the game, I want to get better,” said Jared Bell.
Spencer believes that it’s important for pro athletes to give back to the youth. He went on to say “It’s essential to share our knowledge with young players and teach them what we have learned.”
The camp had a good number of players to participate. Here’s three point guards to be on the lookout for this upcoming school year.
Jared Bell, 5’6 2022 Arabia Mountain High School
Bell plays with extreme confidence. His passing game allows him to create offense and get others involved. When he isn’t dishing the ball to one of his teammates he’s penetrating the defense and attacking the rim. Bell is a player that can control the tempo of the game with his poise and ball protection. He brings balance on the hardwood floor, makes smart plays and stays active on both ends of the court. Bell was selected as the Most Improved Player at the camp.
Dylan Williams, 5’6 2022 (Homeschooled)
Williams plays well in transition offense and takes advantage of scoring opportunities. He’s a team player that thrives off of creating plays for his teammates. His versatility makes him an asset. On the defensive end, Williams plays with toughness. He gets in the passing lane, hustles and works harder than his opponents. “Being able to come out here and showcase my talent has been fun. If you’re a real ball player you should have been here,” said Williams.
David Harrell, 5’2 2023 Ogden High School
Harrell is a speedy point guard with good ball-handling skills. In addition, he is an efficient shooter. Harrell shoots well off of the dribble. He has a consistent release and manages his athletic stance allowing him to create his shooting rhythm. Harrell plays with passion and high intensity. “This has been an amazing experience. Being here expanded my game. In comparison to other camps, this camp was most memorable. The coaches know how to break the game down, they have a lot of patience and work with you. I don’t see a lot of coaches doing what they did for me,” said Harrell.
