The biggest development to date came a couple of weeks ago when standout 2020 wing Cam’Ron Fletcher of Vashon gave a verbal commitment to Kentucky. The 6’7″ Fletcher chose John Calipari’s program over the other finalists of Michigan State, North Carolina, Missouri and Alabama. He is currently ranked No. 34 in the Prep Hoops National Rankings in the Class of 2020.
Fletcher averaged 17 points last season in helping lead the Wolverines to the Class 3 state championship. He spent the grassroots season playing for Brad Beal Elite 17Us in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. Fletcher also had an excellent showing at the National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp in Norfolk, VA in June.
Caleb Love sets his visits
Standout 2020 guard Caleb Love of CBC has set up his five official visits for the fall. The 6’3″ Love will visit Missouri from September 7-8. The following weekends, Love will be at Indiana from September 12-15, North Carolina from September 20-22, Louisville from September 27-29 and Kansas from October 12-15.
The 6’3″ Love is currently ranked No. 30 in the Prep Hoops National rankings in the Class of 2020 and No. 1 in the Prep Hoops Missouri rankings. Love averaged 20 points a game last season in leading CBC to a runner-up finish in the Missouri Class 5 state tournament. He enjoyed a big summer on the grassroots circuit with the Brad Beal Elite 17U in the Nike EYBL season. Love has also been invited and participated in the USA Basketball Mini-Camp in Colorado Springs and the Nike Skills Academy in Los Angeles last week.
Arkansas-Fort Smith lands two Show-Me Standouts
A pair of excellent players from the Class of 2020 have already given verbal commitments to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, a NCAA Division II program in the Lone Star Conference.
Terrell Kabala, a 6’1″ point guard from Webb City and Dalton Gayman, a 6’5″ forward from Nevada have given pledges to UAPB after the grassroots season.
Kabala is a burly, yet explosive point guard who enjoyed a big summer grassroots season with Victory Ministry’s 17U team. He is a two-sport standout who also excels on the football field for the Cardinals’ state powerhouse program. As a junior, Kabala averaged 14 points, five rebounds and three assists a game while shooting 39 percent from 3-point range and 76 percent from the free throw line.
Gayman will be entering his fourth season as a starter at Nevada, where he is following in the footsteps of older brother Clay Gayman to the collegiate level. Clay Gayman will be entering his sophomore year at Abilene Christian, which made it to the NCAA Tournament last season. Dalton had an excellent grassroots season with the KC Pacers Blue 17U during the summer. He is a walking double-double machine who plays a tough, physical game around the basket.
