Recruiting Report: Jordan Rayford (2021)
Jordan Rayford is one of the more recruitable guards you will find in the local 2021 class. Listed at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds, he has an impressive physical profile, but he also has a high IQ both on and off the court. Rayford discussed the recent improvements he’s made to his overall game during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
“Definitely my three point jump-shot, that’s probably the main thing I’m working on,” He stated. “Getting my form right off the dribble or catching it. Also since I’m going to Bishop Walsh, I’m not going to have the ball in my hands all 100% time kind of like I did at GDS. So I’m getting used to catching it in the triple threat position. Stuff like that.”
For a new-look Bishop Walsh squad, Rayford will be a welcomed addition. His ability to rebound and initiate the fast break or fill the lanes off the ball are a couple of examples of how his versatility could be utilized. Rayford received his first D1 scholarship offer from Old Dominion in June, but several others such as Clemson, GW, Mount St. Mary’s, and Holy Cross have all reached out.
What are his goals?
“Definitely be the best player I can be. I definitely want to play in college, maybe even go pro. Pro is the ultimate goal. But college, definitely is a goal of mine.”
Jordan Rayford is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-25 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Maryland and DC’s 2021 class, click here.
