Recruiting Report: Brayon Freeman (2021)
Its quite clear that Brayon Freeman has been putting in a lot of work to become a consistent long-range shooter. He’s always been able to get to the rim and finish despite the fact that his jumper is still a work in progress, but it appears he’s truly turning the corner as far as shooting is concerned.
“Just getting up a lot of reps in the gym, 300-500 shots a day,” Freeman said during a recent interview with Prep Hoops. “Getting on the shooting machine, working on mechanics, trying to get everything tight for the season.”
The evidence of Freeman’s improved shot was on display throughout the Will Barton Elite Camp in Baltimore last weekend. Not only did he score consistently from all three levels, but he defended and got others involved. Freeman hopes to prove that he can be regarded as a true point guard who can set the table, defend and score when his number is called. Several division one programs are taking notice, and his recruitment continues to expand as a result.
“Cincinnati, UConn, Ole Miss, VCU, and Virginia Tech have been in touch lately,” Freeman told Prep Hoops. “I’m setting up some visits now. Ole Miss later this month, Virginia Tech, NC State, and hopefully UConn in September.”
What are his goals?
“Just to win this season for O’Connell. Trying to get to American, and trying to get a WCAC Championship.”
Brayon Freeman is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-five prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Virginia’s 2021 class, click here.
