Recruiting Report: Andres Frye (2020)
Andres Frye, a class of 2020 guard prospect from McLean School, led the DC Metro Area in scoring and rebounding last season at over 27 points and 14 rebounds per game. Listed at 6-foot-3, 180+ pounds with a 6-foot-5 wingspan, Frye has an intriguing physical profile which projects nicely to the college level. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, he spoke a bit about his overall game, recruitment and goals.
PH: Describe your game for those who haven’t seen you play.
AF: “I’m an athletic guard who can get to the basket and finish through contact.”
PH: Whats something you do on the court that won’t show up on the stat sheet?
AF: “One thing that I do in the court that won’t show up are deflections on defense.”
PH: Explain your role for the upcoming season.
AF: “My role for this upcoming season will be to score the ball and rebound the ball.”
PH: Who is recruiting you?
AF: “Mostly D3 schools that are local to the DC area.”
PH: Which schools have you visited?
AF: “I have visited Marymount, Bryant, Clark, Emerson, and Bentley.”
PH: What are some important factors in your college decision? What do you want to study?
AF: “Important factors for college are that I am able to study business.”
PH: What are your goals?
AF: “Some of my goals are to win the conference championship this year, become a division 1 basketball player, and to play professionally.”
PH: What can you bring to a college program?
AF: “I can bring scoring and a great energy especially through my work to rise the level of a team.”
