Brady Grier (2021 Westview HS) – We actually didn’t get a good read on Grier as he really didn’t get an opportunity to get many touches offensively. The 6-foot-4 wing did try to do what he does best which is spot up from beyond the arc, but he was unable to hit any jumpers from the catches he did get.
Elijah Munyan (2021 Columbia Christian HS) – Munyan has earned a well-deserved reputation as an elite athlete and he showed flashes of that athleticism during camp. The 6-foot-1 guard ran the floor well, finished some plays around the basket, and showed good effort defensively, but was unable to knock down any perimeter shots.
Kam Robinson (2021 Jefferson HS) – We got a look at Robinson in one game and it was a solid performance from the 6-foot-8 post. He set up shop down low and used his footwork to free himself for shot opportunities, and as it has become routine for him, when he missed he was right there to grab the offensive rebound and put it right back in. There are times when he seemed to coast a bit when getting back on defense but he continues to develop as a player.
Luke Smith (2021 Willamette HS) – Smith is one of the state’s better kept secrets in the Class of 2021 but that won’t be for long as his role will increase at Willamette this year. At camp, the 6-foot-1 combo guard wasn’t spectacular but he was good off the bounce and used his body to create and get a couple of buckets in the lane.
Jackson Shelstad (2023 West Linn HS) – Shelstad probably got the most out of PSU Elite Camp than anyone else. While we only caught him in one game, one in which he was solid – he went up against the more phyically mature Jamison Guerra and held his own – but from what we heard in his other game in the side gym, Shelstad lit it up from the outside and scored about 30 points. It’s from that performance that the 5-foot-10 rising freshman earned a scholarship offer from the Vikings, one of what will probably be many offers during his upcoming high school career.
