At 6’5, Carmichael is a defensive-minded player who looks to own the paint at the defensive end of the court. He can knock down 3-pointers when open, especially off the catch.
He says playing for Kansas Grind has helped him prepare for the upcoming season, allowing him to run against good competition and work on his outside shot.
“Kansas Grind Elite has helped me prepare for the school year by giving me the opportunity to play some of the best talent in the nation and to push myself to be my best,” he says. “I’ve really been working on my 3 point shot. I want to be lethal on the whole court.”
Carmichael says he was his team’s starting center at Haven and led the team in scoring en route to a 13-8 season. He says he is looking to help his team advance past the sub-state semifinals where they lost last year.
Carmichael says his dad has had the biggest impact on his basketball career to date.
“He has given me all the opportunities in the world to enjoy the great sport of basketball and improve my abilities,” Carmichael says.
A fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, Carmichael says he has looked up to several players in the program.
“I’ve always looked up to the Jayhawks and have used some of their past players as role models to improve my game,” he says.
